Delete your Masa account

You can delete your Masa account at any time, in the app or by email. Here is how it works and exactly what happens to your data.

In the app

The quickest way. It works the same in the iPhone and Android apps and in the web game at masa.io/play.

Open Masa and sign in to the account you want to delete.

Go to Settings › Account › Delete account.

If the account has a phone number or email, enter the code we send to it. A guest account only asks you to confirm.

Done. You are signed out on every device and your profile disappears right away.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it first in your store account’s subscription settings.
A membership bought on the web (paid through Stripe) stops renewing when you delete your account, so you are not charged again.
Chips, Gems, items and membership time go with the account. They cannot be restored or refunded.
Deletion cannot be undone. Signing in later with the same phone number or email starts a new, empty account.

You are signed out everywhere and the account can no longer be used.
Your name and profile disappear from search, profiles, friends lists, messages and leaderboards.
Your phone number and email are unlinked from Masa.
Your follows, clips, comments, likes, shared links and pictures, invite code and settings are deleted.

The rest of your personal data, such as your friends, messages, game history and sign-in and device records, is deleted or anonymized.
Your username stays reserved for 30 days so nobody can pose as you. Then it is released.

Purchase and payment records (what was bought, when and for how much) and the records of Chips, Gems and other in-game points with the gifts, rewards, invite bonuses and predictions behind them, anonymized: tax and accounting laws require them, and refunds, chargebacks and fraud checks rely on them.
A one-way coded fingerprint of your phone number and device, so welcome gifts and invite rewards cannot be claimed twice. It cannot be turned back into your number.
If the account was banned, a record of the ban, so it cannot be dodged with a new account.
Reports you sent, and reports about you, stay with our moderators without any link to your account.
