Pife

A version of Konken Rummy

Nine cards, no wilds: go out with three melds

Pife is the Brazilian rummy that families play by its own name: two decks, nine cards each and not a single wild card — no jokers, no turned vira. Draw, discard and arrange your hand into three melds of three, runs of one suit or sets of different suits, then go out (bater). Everyone has ten lives and the last player left wins.

Play Pife online with friends

At Masa, Pife is a game of its own right next to Konken Rummy: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.

How to play

  1. 1

Pife: 9 cards each. Meld them all, then go out (bater). Everyone has 10 points; the last player in wins.

  2. 2

Draw from the stock or take the top of the pile, then discard. Your melds stay in your hand.

  3. 3

    No wild cards (Pife)

  4. 4

Sets have exactly three suits (a 4th card only a copy of one of them). A plays low (A-2-3) or high (Q-K-A).
