Chinchón

A version of Konken Rummy

Cut with a low card or close a chinchón

Chinchón is the card game of Spanish bars and Argentine family tables: seven cards each, melds kept in your hand, and the cut — you close the round when every card is melded or one low card is left. Points you keep count against you, over 100 is out, and a chinchón — seven in a row of one suit — wins the game on the spot.

Play Chinchón online with friends

At Masa, Chinchón is a game of its own right next to Konken Rummy: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.

How to play

  1. 1

Chinchón: 7 cards each. Meld them all in runs (one suit) and sets, then cut. Over 100 points is out; the last player in wins.

  2. 2

Draw from the stock or take the top of the pile, then discard. Your melds stay in your hand until you cut.

  3. 3

Cut with your discard when every other card is melded (you score −10) or when one card worth 3 or less is left (it is your score). Nobody cuts in the first round.

  4. 4

Two jokers: at most one in a meld.

  5. 5

Chinchón: all 7 cards in a row of one suit, no joker — it wins the game at once.
