Seven contracts, one king of the table

King is a whole family of trick-taking games in one. In each hand, the declarer picks the contract: a trump hand where every trick scores, or a penalty hand where you want to avoid certain cards or tricks.

Play King online with friends

King rewards a regular group: four friends, seven contracts and a score that swings until the last hand. Start a quick 12-hand game on a weeknight, talk on voice chat while you choose contracts, and a bot finishes the seat if someone has to leave.

How to play

  1. 1

Four players get 13 cards each. The holder of the 2 of diamonds chooses the first contract; the turn to choose then moves around the table.

  2. 2

Trump contracts: name a trump suit and win as many tricks as possible.

  3. 3

Penalty contracts: avoid tricks, hearts, queens, kings and jacks, the last two tricks, or the king of hearts (rıfkı).

  4. 4

Follow suit if you can. In penalty hands, you must drop a penalty card when a higher card of its suit is already on the table.

  5. 5

Each player has a limited number of trump and penalty contracts to choose over the game.

Other versions of King

Same table, other rules: each version is a game of its own at Masa, with its own tables, rules and stats.
