Play Chess online with friends
Send a friend the link to your table for a 5+3 blitz game, or choose 3+2, 10+0, 15+10 or a casual table without the rush. No friend online? Bots at six levels, from beginner-friendly to seriously strong, are always ready for a game.
How to play
- 1
White moves first. Each piece moves in its own way: the knight jumps, bishops go diagonally, rooks straight, the queen both.
- 2
Capture by moving onto an enemy piece. Your king may never be left in check.
- 3
Special moves: castling, en passant and promotion when a pawn reaches the last rank.
- 4
Checkmate the enemy king to win.
Frequently asked questions
Can I play against the computer?
Yes. Bots come in six levels, from beginner-friendly to seriously strong.
What happens if my time runs out?
You lose on time, unless your opponent does not have enough material left to checkmate, in which case it is a draw.
Can I take over a bot’s seat mid-game?
In chess you join at the start of the next game, so no one inherits a half-played position.
