Wrotham Rummy
Three jokers, six deals: the last three go down all at once
Wrotham Rummy comes from the pubs of Kent: 52 cards and three jokers, 7 cards each and 8 to the first player. The first three deals are played like ordinary rummy — meld, lay off, swap a joker for its card — but in the last three nothing goes down until you go out with your whole hand at once. After six deals the highest total wins.

How to play
- 1
2 to 4 players, 52 cards and three jokers: 7 cards each, 8 to the first player, who starts the discard pile. Six deals; after the sixth the highest total wins (a tie plays on).
- 2
Draw from the stock or take the top discard — a card you take can’t go back to the pile in the same turn.
- 3
Lay sets (3 or 4 of a rank) and runs (3 or more in a row of one suit). Aces are low: A-2-3, never Q-K-A.
- 4
A joker stands for any card. Give the card a melded joker stands for and take the joker into your hand.
- 5
Deals 1–3: lay melds and add to them as usual. Deals 4–6: nothing goes down until you go out — then your whole hand at once (no going-rummy bonus there).
