Rummy

A version of Rummy 500

Draw, meld, go out: the classic to 100

Rummy is the card game most families learn first: draw from the stock or take the top discard, lay sets and runs, add to any meld and go out by melding or discarding your last card. The winner scores the cards left in the others’ hands — go out all at once, “going rummy”, and it counts double. First to 100 wins.

Play Rummy online with friends

At Masa, Rummy is a game of its own right next to Rummy 500: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.

How to play

  1. 1

2 to 4 players: 10 cards each with two, 7 with three or four. Get rid of your cards; the winner of a hand scores the cards left in the others’ hands. The first to 100 wins.

  2. 2

Draw from the stock or take the top discard — a card you take can’t go back to the pile in the same turn.

  3. 3

Lay sets (3 or 4 of a rank) and runs (3 or more in a row of one suit). Aces are low: A-2-3, never Q-K-A.

  4. 4

Add cards to any meld on the table, yours or anyone’s.
