Tarneeb
Partners bid 7 to 13 and the winner names trump
Tarneeb is the card game of family evenings in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Egypt. Two teams of partners bid around the table from 7 up to all 13 tricks, each bid higher than the last, until three players have passed (a pass is final); the winner names trump — or plays with no trump — and leads. Follow suit if you can, play anything if you can’t, and make the bid together. Take all thirteen and it is a kaboot; the first team to 31 wins.

At Masa, Tarneeb is a game of its own right next to Batak: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.
How to play
- 1
4 players in two teams of partners sitting opposite each other, 13 cards each. The first team to 31 points wins; both partners share the pot (minus the 5% table fee).
- 2
Bidding starts with the player after the dealer: bid how many tricks your TEAM will take (7–13) or pass. Every bid must be higher; a pass is final. If all four would pass, the dealer must bid 7.
- 3
The highest bidder names trump — or no trump — and leads the first trick. Each partner plays their own hand; the winner of each trick leads the next.
- 4
Follow the suit that was led if you can; if you can’t, play any card — a trump or a discard. You never have to beat the trick, and trumps may be led at any time.
