Ludo 40
Forty squares, no safe spots
Ludo 40 is the race game families from Turkey to Poland grew up with — Kızma Birader, Chińczyk, Nu te supăra, frate: a short 40-square track, four pawns each and not a single safe square. A 6 brings a pawn out, every rival you land on goes back to the yard, and the first player with four pawns in the goal wins.

How to play
- 1
Race your four pawns once around the 40-square track into your four goal squares.
- 2
Roll a 6 to bring a pawn out — you must when you can — and roll again after every 6.
- 3
No pawn can move? You get three tries to roll a 6.
- 4
There are no safe squares: land on a rival pawn to send it back to its yard. Two of your pawns never share a square.
- 5
While pawns wait in your yard, move off your start square first.
- 6
In the goal, move with the exact number onto a free goal square.
