Double Sar
Win two tricks in a row to take the pile
Double Sar is Court Piece with a twist from Pakistan and India: a trick you win stays in the middle of the table, and the pile only goes to a team when the same player wins two tricks in a row. All thirteen tricks are played and seven or more win the hand; take all thirteen — or seven hands in a row — for a court. Tables can play Hidden Rung, with the trump card face down, or Be-ranga, where the first player who cannot follow suit makes trump.

Play Double Sar online with friends
At Masa, Double Sar is a game of its own right next to Batak: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.
How to play
- 1
4 players in two teams of partners sitting opposite each other, 13 cards each. The first team to score 1 court wins; both partners share the pot (minus the 5% table fee).
- 2
The player after the dealer gets five cards first and names trump from them; only then are the other cards dealt. That player leads the first trick; the winner of each trick leads the next.
- 3
Follow the suit that was led if you can; if you can’t, play any card — a trump or a discard. You never have to beat the trick, and trumps may be led at any time.
- 4
A won trick stays in the centre. When the same player wins two tricks in a row he picks up the whole pile for his team; the next trick starts a new pile. Two partners in a row pick up nothing. The 13th trick takes whatever is left.
- 5
The dealer always comes from the side that lost the hand, so the winners name trump next.
