Omaha

A version of Texas Hold’em

Four hole cards, play exactly two — pot-limit

Pot-Limit Omaha — PLO — is the game many poker players move on to after Hold’em, and the favourite of tables across Europe and Brazil. Everyone gets four hole cards instead of two, and your hand is always exactly two of them with exactly three of the five on the board: four hearts in your hand and one on the board make no flush. Betting is pot-limit — the biggest bet or raise is the size of the pot — and the hands run closer than in Hold’em.

Play Omaha online with friends

At Masa, Omaha is a game of its own right next to Texas Hold’em: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.

How to play

  1. 1

You get 4 cards. Your hand is exactly two of them with exactly three of the five on the board — a flush needs two of your own cards in the suit.

  2. 2

Two blinds start each pot and move one seat on every hand. A new player waits until the big blind reaches them — or posts one to play at once.

  3. 3

Pot limit: the most you can bet is the pot; the most you can raise is your call plus the pot after it. The Pot button picks that amount.

Frequently asked questions

Is Omaha the same game as Texas Hold’em?

No. Omaha is played at the same kind of table as Texas Hold’em, but with rules of its own — see “How to play” above. At Masa it is a game of its own, with its own tables, stats and achievements.

Can I play Omaha online with friends?

Yes. Open a Omaha table and share its code or link. Empty seats fill with other players or bots, so a game always starts.

Is Omaha free to play?

Yes. You play with Chips, which have no cash value: nothing can be won or cashed out.
