Saudi Hand

A version of 51 Rummy

The opening rises every round

Saudi Hand is the Gulf’s take on Hand: the same two decks, two jokers and 14 cards, but the opening keeps rising — whoever opens next must beat the previous opening by at least a point. Five rounds, every player for themselves, and the lowest total wins.

Play Saudi Hand online with friends

At Masa, Saudi Hand is a game of its own right next to 51 Rummy: pick it in the games list, open a table and share its code or link with your friends, or sit at a house table. Bots fill the empty chairs, and voice chat keeps the table talking.

How to play

  1. 1

Saudi Hand: two decks with 2 jokers, 14 cards each (the first player 15). Meld runs and sets to empty your hand; the lowest total after 5 rounds wins.

  2. 2

Open with melds worth 51+ in one turn; after that, meld and lay off on any meld freely.

  3. 3

Rising opening: each opening must beat the previous one by at least a point.

  4. 4

Draw, or take the last discard — it must go into a new meld (or your opening) this turn.

  5. 5

One joker per meld. A run’s joker comes back for its exact card; a set’s only for both missing suits.
